Japan's Abe to Visit 5 European Nations after Russia Trip

Tokyo, April 20 (Jiji Press)--Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will visit Britain and the four northern European countries of Norway, Denmark, Finland and Sweden after his trip to Russia next week, government officials said Thursday.
In Britain, Abe will meet with his counterpart, Theresa May, on April 29 ahead of the British general election set for June.
The Japanese leader will ask May to minimize the impact of Britain's exit from the European Union on the business environment for Japanese companies operating in her country, the officials said.
Abe and May are also seen confirming cooperation in the lead-up to the Group of Seven summit in Italy in May.
In his first trip to Northern Europe as prime minister, Abe is expected to discuss natural resources development and commercial use of water routes in the Arctic.
