Studio Ghibli Starts Recruitment for Miyazaki's New Film

Tokyo, May 19 (Jiji Press)--Japan's Studio Ghibli Inc. on Friday started recruiting staff to create a new animated feature film directed by Oscar-winning animator Hayao Miyazaki.
The contract period will be three years, starting this October. The film is expected to be completed in 2020 if all goes well.
"Director Miyazaki has decided to withdraw his promise to retire, with a resolve to create an animated feature movie," the studio commented.
"The reason is that he has found a subject worth making a film about. Given his age, it will certainly be the last time he will direct a film," the studio also said.
Miyazaki announced his retirement from directing animated features after the release of "Kaze Tachinu" (The Wind Rises) in 2013.
