Toshiba to Buy IHI's Westinghouse Shares for 18.9 B. Yen

   Tokyo, Feb. 17 (Jiji Press)--Toshiba Corp. <6502> said Friday that it will spend 18.9 billion yen to acquire all of IHI Corp.'s <7013> shares in U.S. nuclear power plant builder Westinghouse Electric Co., Toshiba's struggling subsidiary.
   Toshiba will purchase IHI's 3 pct stake in Westinghouse on May 17 at the request of IHI, which holds the right to make Toshiba buy the shares under a deal reached when the heavy machinery maker took the stake.
