Japan Smartphone Market Becoming More Competitive

   Tokyo, April 21 (Jiji Press)--Japan's smartphone market is showing signs of becoming more competitive following the introduction of tighter regulations on three major mobile carriers a year ago after years of their dominance.
   The three firms, NTT Docomo Inc. <9437>, KDDI Corp. <9433> and Softbank Group Corp. <9984>, currently refrain from offering discounts on handsets due to the regulations, while smaller rivals are intensifying efforts to lure customers with their reasonable rate plans.
