Abe, Rutte Vow to Make Success of Osaka G-20 Summit

Rotterdam, Netherlands, Jan. 9 (Jiji Press)--Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his Dutch counterpart, Mark Rutte, agreed Wednesday to cooperate in making a success of this year's Group of 20 summit in Osaka, western Japan.
The two leaders, meeting in Rotterdam, a port city in the Netherlands, agreed to work together closely to promote free trade.
At a joint press conference with Rutte after their talks, Abe said, "Japan, as this year's G-20 chair, will fulfill its responsibility to maintain and strengthen the free and fair international economic order."
Rutte said the Netherlands will do what it can to ensure a success of the G-20 summit under the chairmanship of Japan.
Abe and Rutte agreed to address global issues, including climate change and ocean plastic waste, to make the G-20 summit successful.
