Japan to Revise FY '19 Draft Budget Due to Survey Error

   Tokyo, Jan. 10 (Jiji Press)--The Japanese government will revise its fiscal 2019 draft budget following the discovery of an error in the method for taking a monthly labor survey, it was learned Thursday.
   The error caused the government to pay insufficient amounts of benefits under the employment insurance program. The total shortfalls are expected to reach tens of billions of yen.
   The government intends to cover the shortfalls by boosting funds secured for the purpose in the general and special accounts.
   Labor minister Takumi Nemoto is set to explain details of this problem on Friday.
   In the draft budget, some 25 billion yen are earmarked for unemployment and other benefits under the public insurance program.
