Japanese Household Spending Falls 0.6 Pct in Nov.

Tokyo, Jan. 11 (Jiji Press)--Japanese household spending fell 0.6 pct in November from a year before in price-adjusted real terms as high temperatures helped cut the costs of heating, the internal affairs ministry said Friday.
Consumption expenditures by households with two or more members averaged 281,041 yen, marking the third consecutive month of decline.
The ministry kept its assessment unchanged, saying the recovery in household spending shows signs of stalling.
Fuel, light and water charges dropped 10.0 pct, led by a decline in electricity bills, amid high temperatures.
Spending on food declined 2.2 pct as demand for seafood and meat, key ingredients for hot-pot dishes, was sluggish due to warm weather.
