Trailer Homes to Be Offered as Disaster Temporary Housing

Nagano, March 11 (Jiji Press)--Cumberland Japan Co. on Monday released a new trailer-home model to be offered for use as temporary housing in the event of disasters.
The producer and seller of trailer homes based in the central Japan city of Nagano plans to build 100 units of the model, Grandee, this year.
Cumberland Japan supplied a total of some 30 trailer homes to Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture, western Japan, hit by heavy rains last year, and Abira and Atsuma, Hokkaido, after a powerful earthquake rocked the northernmost prefecture also last year.
"We hope we'll be able to quickly provide warm accommodation," said President Hideyo Harada.
The new trailer home, which is 11 meters long and 3.5 meters wide, is equipped with a toilet, a bathroom and a kitchen. It houses up to eight people.
