Japan's Producer Prices Up 0.8 Pct in Feb.

Tokyo, March 13 (Jiji Press)--Producer prices in Japan in February climbed 0.8 pct from a year before, partly on the back of a resilience in crude oil prices, the Bank of Japan said Wednesday.
The producer price index stood at 101.1 against 100 for the base year of 2015, the central bank said. It rose for the 26th straight month.
The size of growth expanded for the first time since July last year. In January, the index gained 0.6 pct.
In February, prices of petroleum and coal products fell 2.1 pct. The pace of decline shrank from the 4.2 pct in January as the downtrend in crude oil prices came to a pause.
Nonferrous metal prices logged a 5.6 pct drop, smaller than January's 7.4 pct decline thanks to a rebound in copper prices.
