Tokyo, March 15 (Jiji Press)--Japanese Prince Hisahito, 12, attended a graduation ceremony of Ochanomizu University Elementary School on Friday, ending six years of education at the school in Tokyo's Bunkyo Ward.
The prince, the third and youngest child of Prince Akishino, the second son of Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko, and Princess Kiko, will advance to Ochanomizu University Junior High School in April.
At the graduation ceremony, held for about an hour from 10 a.m. (1 a.m. GMT), Prince Hisahito received his graduation certificate from the school's principal. His parents watched the ceremony at the venue of the event.
When reporters congratulated him on his graduation after the ceremony, Prince Hisahito replied, "Thank you very much."
In his graduation essay, released by the Imperial Household Agency, the prince reflected on his activities during the six years, including interaction with nature and research on the history of Tokyo.
