Japan's Household Spending Up 1.3 Pct in April

   Tokyo, June 7 (Jiji Press)--Japanese household spending in April rose 1.3 pct from a year before in price-adjusted real terms, up for the fifth consecutive month, the internal affairs ministry said Friday.
   The rise reflected growth in purchases of new vehicles and overseas package tours.
   Consumption expenditures by households with at least two members averaged 301,136 yen.
   The ministry maintained its basic assessment of household spending, saying it is picking up.
   By item, automobile purchases grew following new model launches by automakers.
