Japan's Current Account Surplus Shrinks 9.5 Pct in April

   Tokyo, June 10 (Jiji Press)--Japan's current account surplus in April fell 9.5 pct from a year before to 1,707.4 billion yen, the Ministry of Finance said Monday.
   The result still outpaced the median forecast of 1,515.5 billion yen in a Jiji Press survey of 18 economic research institutes.
   Japan logged a goods and services trade deficit of 410.9 billion yen, against the year-before surplus of 119.8 billion yen, the ministry said in a preliminary balance of payments report.
   In goods trade, Japan's deficit totaled 98.2 billion yen, against 562.2 billion yen in surplus. Exports were down 3.7 pct at 6,388.0 billion yen, while imports were up 6.9 pct at 6,486.2 billion yen.
   The surplus on the primary income account expanded 9.6 pct to 2,130.3 billion yen.
