Japan Jan.-March GDP Growth Revised Upward to 2.2 Pct

   Tokyo, June 10 (Jiji Press)--Japan's gross domestic product growth in January-March from the previous quarter was revised upward to 2.2 pct in price-adjusted real terms on an annualized basis, from the preliminary reading of 2.1 pct, according to revised government data released Monday.
   On a nonannualized basis, GDP growth was revised to 0.6 pct from 0.5 pct, the Cabinet Office said.
   In nominal terms, GDP rose 0.8 pct for an annualized expansion of 3.4 pct, according to the revised data. In the preliminary report released last month, GDP expanded 0.8 pct for an annualized increase of 3.3 pct.
   For the whole of fiscal 2018, which ended in March, the country's GDP increased 0.7 pct from the previous year, according to the revised data. The preliminary report gave a 0.6 pct expansion.
