Japan to Set Up Integrated Consultation Center for Foreigners

Tokyo, June 18 (Jiji Press)--The Japanese government decided on Tuesday to set up a new consultation center for foreigners in fiscal 2020 by integrating the existing services for such people on immigration control, work, visa and other matters.
The government made the decision at a meeting of related cabinet ministers on accepting and coexisting with foreign workforce.
The new consultation center will be established near Yotsuya Station of Japan Railway Co. <9020>, or JR East, in Tokyo's Shinjuku Ward. Some 500 employees of related government ministries and agencies will work at the facility.
The center will also provide consultations for municipalities across Japan.
At the meeting, the government decided on measures to prevent foreign nationals residing in Japan under the country's new resident status from concentrating in urban areas.
