Abe Mulling Cabinet Reshuffle in Mid-Sept.

Tokyo, July 18 (Jiji Press)--Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is considering reshuffling his cabinet in mid-September, informed sources said Thursday.
He will make a final decision on the shake-up after seeing the results of Sunday's election for the House of Councillors, the upper chamber of the Diet, the country's parliament, the sources said.
The government and the ruling coalition, led by Abe's Liberal Democratic Party, are considering convening the Diet into an extraordinary session on Aug. 1 for a five-day run mainly to pick new president and vice president of the Upper House following the election, the sources said.
Abe is currently expected to revamp the LDP's leadership team on Sept. 10 and reshuffle the cabinet on Sept. 12, the sources said. A full-fledged extraordinary session of the Diet is likely to start in early October, according to the sources.
In the envisaged cabinet reshuffle, Abe is expected to retain Taro Aso as deputy prime minister and finance minister, and Yoshihide Suga as chief cabinet secretary, the sources said.
