Japan's Current Account Surplus at 1,211.2 B. Yen in June

   Tokyo, Aug. 8 (Jiji Press)--Japan's current account surplus in June came to 1,211.2 billion yen, down 0.02 pct from a year earlier, the Ministry of Finance said Thursday.
   The result came against the median forecast of 1,177 billion yen in surplus among 19 economic research institutes surveyed by Jiji Press.
   Japan logged a goods and services trade surplus of 810.2 billion yen against the year-before surplus of 659.6 billion yen, the ministry said in a preliminary balance of payments report.
   In goods trade, Japan's surplus totaled 759.3 billion yen, against 823.6 billion yen in surplus. Exports were down 7.5 pct at 6,452.4 billion yen, and imports were down 7.5 pct at 5,693.1 billion yen.
   The surplus on the primary income account shrank 30.1 pct to 427.3 billion yen.
