Miniature Theme Park to Open in Tokyo Next Spring

Miniature Theme Park to Open in Tokyo Next Spring

Tokyo, Aug. 8 (Jiji Press)--A theme park named Small Worlds Tokyo featuring miniature models will open in the Ariake district on the Tokyo Bay next spring, according to leisure facility operator Small Worlds Inc.
The 8,000-square-meter indoor facility will display miniature models one-80th the real size in seven areas with different themes, including Kansai Airports and Space Center.
Many miniature models will move. Rockets will be lifted off, background sceneries changed and other objects moved mechanically.
Special tickets will be available to allow visitors to put model figures they make using three-dimensional printers on any area they like.
"We want visitors to enjoy experiences, such as taking pictures and moving objects, not just seeing them," said Masahiro Kondo, president of the Tokyo-based company.
