(Update) China's Wang Urges Japan, S. Korea to Resolve Bilateral Tensions

Beijing, Aug. 21 (Jiji Press)--Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi urged his Japanese and South Korean counterparts, Taro Kono and Kang Kyung-wha, respectively, on Wednesday to resolve the current tensions between the two countries.
Meanwhile, the three ministers affirmed their countries' close cooperation toward the complete denuclearization of North Korea, at their meeting in a Beijing suburb, which followed North Korea's recent launches of projectiles including short-range ballistic missiles.
As part of the cooperation, the ministers agreed to fully implement related U.N. Security Council resolutions against North Korea, according to Japanese officials.
The foreign ministers of Japan, China and South Korea last held a three-way meeting in August 2016.
At a joint press conference following Wednesday's meeting, Wang referred to the sour ties between Tokyo and Seoul. He called on both sides to find a solution to their problems while giving due consideration to each other's concerns.
