(Update) One Killed, Some 30 Injured in Train-Truck Collision in Yokohama

Yokohama, Sept. 5 (Jiji Press)--An eight-car Keikyu Corp. <9006> train and a truck collided at a crossing in Yokohama, the capital of Kanagawa Prefecture, south of Tokyo, on Thursday, leaving a man dead and some 30 people injured, authorities said.
The man died after he was sent to a hospital, according to the Yokohama fire department. He is believed to be the 67-year-old driver of the 12-ton truck, loaded with 660 cases of lemons.
The accident occurred around 11:40 a.m. (2:40 a.m. GMT). The crossing is located between Kanagawa-Shinmachi and Nakakido stations in the city's Kanagawa Ward.
The Kanagawa prefectural police department is investigating how the accident occurred. The first to third cars of the "kaitoku" special rapid train derailed after the collision, according to the Japanese railway operator and other sources.
Black smoke was seen near the accident scene, and there was an emergency call reporting a fire. The train was bound for Keikyu's Misakiguchi Station in the city of Miura in Kanagawa Prefecture, after starting at Aoto Station of Keisei Electric Railway Co. <9009> in Tokyo's Katsushika Ward.
