Japan's Current Account Surplus Down 1.3 Pct in July

   Tokyo, Sept. 9 (Jiji Press)--Japan's current account surplus in July fell 1.3 pct from a year before to 1,999.9 billion yen, the Ministry of Finance said Monday.
   The result came against a median forecast of 2,083.2 billion yen among 17 economic research institutes surveyed by Jiji Press.
   Japan logged a goods and services trade deficit of 304.4 billion yen against the year-before deficit of 165.1 billion yen, the ministry said in a preliminary balance of payments report.
   In goods trade, Japan's deficit totaled 74.5 billion yen, against 8.6 billion yen in deficit. Exports were down 3.9 pct from a year before at 6,504.9 billion yen, while imports were down 3.0 pct at 6,579.5 billion yen.
   The surplus on the primary income account expanded 1.2 pct to 2,389.9 billion yen.
