Japan's Current Account Surplus Down 12.5 Pct in Sept.

   Tokyo, Nov. 11 (Jiji Press)--Japan's current account surplus in September fell 12.5 pct from a year before to 1,612.9 billion yen, the Ministry of Finance said Monday.
   The surplus was smaller than the median forecast of 1,659.2 billion yen among 17 economic research institutes surveyed by Jiji Press.
   Japan logged a goods and services trade surplus of 41.2 billion yen, down 85.7 pct, the ministry said in a preliminary balance of payments report. Its goods trade surplus plummeted 99.6 pct to 1.1 billion yen.
   The surplus on the primary income account expanded 5.6 pct to 1,805.4 billion yen.
   For the April-September first half of fiscal 2019, Japan logged a current account surplus of 10,338.2 billion yen, down 3.3 pct from a year earlier.
