Japan Oct. Industrial Output Down 4.2 Pct

   Tokyo, Nov. 29 (Jiji Press)--Japan's industrial production in October fell 4.2 pct from the previous month, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said Friday.
   The seasonally adjusted production index for the manufacturing and mining sectors stood at 98.9 against 100 for the base year of 2015. In the previous month, the index was up 1.7 pct.
   The October result compared with the median forecast of a 2.1 pct decrease in a Jiji poll of 18 economic research institutes.
   The shipment index stood at 98.3, down 4.3 pct, and the inventory index at 104.1, up 1.2 pct.
   Production at manufacturers is expected to decrease 1.5 pct in November and advance 1.1 pct in December, the ministry said.
