Uniforms for Japanese Olympians, Paralympians Unveiled

Tokyo, Jan. 23 (Jiji Press)--Japan on Thursday unveiled uniforms that will be worn by Japanese athletes during the opening ceremonies of the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics this summer and other ceremonies related to the sporting events.
It is the first time that the same designs have been adopted for Japanese Olympians and Paralympians. The uniforms were unveiled at a press conference in Tokyo by the Japanese Olympic Committee and the Japanese Paralympic Committee.
One of the two types of uniform is a set of a white jacket and a pair of red pants that will be worn by athletes during the opening ceremonies. Female athletes can choose culottes instead of the pants.
The uniforms were made by discount suit retailer Aoki Inc.
Wearing the opening ceremony uniform at the press conference, Japanese star swimmer Daiya Seto said, "It's cool because at first glance, it gives an impression of being a member of the national team."
