Japan Jan.-March GDP Down Preliminary 0.9 Pct

   Tokyo, May 18 (Jiji Press)--Japan's gross domestic product in January-March shrank 0.9 pct from the previous quarter in price-adjusted real terms, the Cabinet Office said in a preliminary report Monday.
   The preliminary reading represents a 3.4 pct annualized fall.
   In nominal terms, January-March GDP fell 0.8 pct for an annualized decrease of 3.1 pct.
   In fiscal 2019, which ended last March, GDP went down 0.1 pct from the previous year in real terms and rose 0.7 pct in nominal terms, the Cabinet Office said.
