(Update) Tokyo Confirms 143 New Coronavirus Cases

Tokyo, July 14 (Jiji Press)--Tokyo confirmed 143 new cases of novel coronavirus infection on Tuesday, the metropolitan government said.
The daily figure in the Japanese capital stood below 200 for two days in a row. Of the 143 people, those aged under 30 accounted for 106, of whom seven are younger than 10.
In neighboring Kanagawa Prefecture, a nurse in her 40s in the city of Kawasaki and a woman in her 60s in the city of Hiratsuka were found infected with the virus after watching a play at Theater Moliere in Tokyo's Shinjuku Ward. The theater has become a hot spot of infections.
An infected woman in her 30 in the town of Chonan in Chiba Prefecture, east of Tokyo, was also found to have watched the same play at the theater.
Meanwhile, seven out of nine people who attended a farewell party at a rental space in the city of Chiba on July 5-6 tested positive for the virus.
