Tokyo Newly Confirms 250 Coronavirus Cases

   Tokyo, July 29 (Jiji Press)--Infection with the novel coronavirus has been newly confirmed for 250 people in Tokyo, the metropolitan government said Wednesday.
   The daily count of new infections in the Japanese capital exceeded 100 for the 21st consecutive day, with the cumulative number of confirmed coronavirus cases there rising to 11,861.
   Of the 250 newly infected people, 160, or about 60 pct, are in their 20s or 30s, according to the metropolitan government.
   Meanwhile, a total of 550 clusters of coronavirus infections had been found across Japan by Tuesday, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga revealed at a press conference Wednesday.
   "To prevent an increase in infections, it's important to detect and contain infection clusters as quickly as possible," Suga stressed.
