(Update 2) Tokyo Confirms 187 New Coronavirus Cases

   Tokyo, Sept. 11 (Jiji Press)--The number of novel coronavirus infection cases newly confirmed in Tokyo came to 187 on Friday, the metropolitan government said.
   The daily figure in the Japanese capital fell back below 200, from the previous day's 276. The number of patients with severe symptoms grew by one from the previous day to 24.
   In Osaka Prefecture, 120 people were newly confirmed to have contracted the novel coronavirus. The western prefecture recorded over 100 new infections for the first time in 10 days.
   In the Osaka city of Sakai, a total of 24 people including 18 preschool children have been found positive for the coronavirus at a child facility. All of them have mild or no symptoms, informed sources said.
   The northeastern prefecture of Miyagi logged 15 new coronavirus cases on Friday, the largest single-day figure in the prefecture so far.
