Japan Services Producer Prices Up 1.0 Pct in Aug.

Tokyo, Sept. 25 (Jiji Press)--Services producer prices in Japan rose 1.0 pct from a year before in August, the Bank of Japan said Friday.
The services producer price index, which measures the costs of services offered to corporate clients, came to 103.8 against 100 for the base year of 2015, according to the central bank.
The index fell 0.1 pct from the previous month, down for the first time in three months, due to sluggish demand in summer.
Excluding the impact of the consumption tax hike in October last year, the index fell 0.8 pct from a year earlier.
It dropped for the sixth consecutive month after prices for accommodation services and domestic air passenger transportation fell sharply. The size of drop expanded from the previous month.
