Japan's Cumulative COVID-19 Cases Up by 3,043 in Past Week

   Tokyo, Sept. 28 (Jiji Press)--The cumulative number of novel coronavirus cases confirmed in Japan, including infections among cruise ship passengers and crew members, came to 83,014 as of 10 a.m. Monday (1 a.m. GMT), up by 3,043 from a week earlier.
   The cumulative COVID-19 death toll rose by 42 to 1,563.
   By prefecture, Tokyo saw the biggest number of infection cases, at 25,257, up by 1,049, followed by Osaka, at 10,447, up by 387, and Kanagawa, at 6,744, up by 361.
   The death toll was the highest in Tokyo, at 400, up by 10, followed by Osaka, at 201, up by nine, and Kanagawa, at 136, unchanged.
