Japan Nov. Core Machinery Orders Up 1.5 Pct

   Tokyo, Jan. 14 (Jiji Press)--Japan's seasonally adjusted core machinery orders in November rose 1.5 pct from the previous month, the Cabinet Office said Thursday.
   Private-sector orders excluding those for ships and power equipment, closely watched as a leading indicator of corporate capital spending, came to 854.8 billion yen.
   The November result, which followed a 17.1 pct increase in October, compared with the median estimate of a 6.2 pct decline by 19 economic research institutes surveyed by Jiji Press. Their estimates ranged from a fall of 15.0 pct to a rise of 1.0 pct.
