Tokyo Reports 446 New Coronavirus Cases

   Tokyo, April 3 (Jiji Press)--Tokyo reported 446 new cases of novel coronavirus infection on Saturday, with the daily count topping 400 for the fourth straight day and rising by 16 from a week before.
   The latest seven-day average of new cases stood at 383.7, up by 11.9 pct from 342.9 a week before.
   People in their 20s made up the largest group of new infections, at 131, followed by 79 in their 30s and 67 in their 40s. Those aged 65 or older stood at 64.
   The number of severely ill COVID-19 patients counted by the Japanese capital's criteria rose by five from the previous day to 48.
   In Hyogo Prefecture, the number of new cases came to 206, exceeding 200 for the first time in three days. Four cities in the western Japan prefecture will be placed under the pre-emergency stage against the resurgence of infections for a month from Monday.
