Japan in No Better Situation 1 Yr after 1st Virus Emergency

   Tokyo, April 7 (Jiji Press)--Japan is in no better situation in its fight against the novel coronavirus epidemic than a year ago, when the government declared a COVID-19 state of emergency for the first time.
   A fourth wave of infections looks imminent as variant cases keep increasing. A decrease in the effectiveness of countermeasures is also plaguing government efforts as the public has grown weary of protracted restrictions.
