Japan Feb. Coincident Index Down 1.3 Points

Tokyo, April 7 (Jiji Press)--Japan's composite index of coincident economic indicators for February fell 1.3 points from the previous month, after a rise in January, the Cabinet Office said Wednesday.
The coincident CI, which reflects current economic conditions, stood at 89.0 against 100 for the base year of 2015, the government agency said in a preliminary report.
The leading CI, a yardstick for the economy's performance months ahead, was up 1.2 points at 99.7.
The Cabinet Office kept its basic assessment on the coincident CI unchanged, saying that it is "signaling a possible (upward) turning point."
