FOCUS: Suga Forced into U-Turn by Experts' Objections

   Tokyo, May 16 (Jiji Press)--Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga has been forced to make a policy U-turn over a coronavirus state of emergency by a barrage of objections from experts demanding stronger measures.
   It was a political miscalculation by Suga. His administration is still unable to map out a strategy for ending the coronavirus crisis though only two months are left until the July 23 opening ceremony for the Tokyo Olympics.
   With no clear way out of the conundrum, the administration is likely to face louder calls to cancel or postpone the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
