Nonprofit Releases Cookbook Using Fish Caught around Japan

Tokyo, May 18 (Jiji Press)--A Japanese nonprofit organization has released a recipe book using seafood caught mainly in waters around Japan.
The book, "Delicious Japanese Fish Recipes," compiled by the NPO, Uminokuni Japan, includes some 300 recipes for Japanese home cooking, Italian food, food for athletes and many other cuisines.
The book has been released in five languages including Japanese and English, and can be downloaded for free online at https://hamachoku.jp.
The fisheries industry in Japan is struggling amid the novel coronavirus epidemic, as many restaurants and "izakaya" pubs are being forced to limit their hours.
"We would like to help the fisheries industry by spreading knowledge of the richness of the seas around Japan, which is surrounded by ocean currents, and of how to cook fish, to the rest of the world," Akiko Sato, deputy head of the NPO, said.
