Japan's Current Account Surplus Falls to 1,665.6 B. Yen in Aug.

   Tokyo, Oct. 8 (Jiji Press)--Japan's current account surplus in August fell by 419.6 billion yen from a year before to 1,665.6 billion yen, the Ministry of Finance said Friday.
   The result came against the median forecast of 1,479.8 billion yen among the 18 economic research institutes surveyed by Jiji Press.
   Japan logged a goods and services trade deficit of 567.3 billion yen against the year-before surplus of 78.2 billion yen, the ministry said in a preliminary international balance of payments report.
   In goods trade, Japan ran a deficit of 372.4 billion yen against 404.4 billion yen in surplus. Exports were up 27.1 pct at 6,513.8 billion yen, and imports up 45.9 pct at 6,886.2 billion yen.
   The surplus on the primary income account rose by 171.2 billion yen to 2,425.9 billion yen.
