(Update 2) Boy in Cardiac Arrest after Being Stabbed in Aichi Pref. School

Nagoya, Nov. 24 (Jiji Press)--A 14-year-old male student is in cardiac arrest after being stabbed in the stomach by another male student at a municipal junior high school in the city of Yatomi, Aichi Prefecture, central Japan, on Wednesday morning, police and fire officials said.
The victim, who was stabbed several times with a kitchen knife, was transported to a hospital in the city after the incident.
Around 8:10 a.m. (11:10 p.m. Tuesday GMT), the Aichi prefectural police department received an emergency call from the school reporting that there was a problem between students and that one of them was stabbed in the stomach.
The police arrested the perpetrator, also a 14-year-old boy, on the spot on suspicion of attempted murder and are investigating details of the incident. The student admitted to the assault in police questioning.
The two boys are in different classes in the third year of the junior high school, the police said. They had an altercation right before the incident, according to officials of the city's board of education and other sources. The assailant is believed to have carried with him the knife, which the sources said did not belong to the school.
