(Update 3) Boy Dies after Being Stabbed at Aichi Pref. School

   Nagoya, Nov. 24 (Jiji Press)--A 14-year-old male student died after being stabbed by another male student at a municipal junior high school in the city of Yatomi, Aichi Prefecture, central Japan, on Wednesday.
   According to police and fire officials, the victim, a third-grader at the school, was stabbed several times, in the stomach and other parts of his body, with a kitchen knife by the perpetrator, also 14 and in the third grade at the school. The stabbed boy was transported to a hospital in the city but was confirmed dead, the officials said.
   Around 8:10 a.m. (11:10 p.m. Tuesday GMT), the Aichi prefectural police department received an emergency call from the school reporting that there was a problem between students and that one of them was stabbed in the abdomen.
   Police officers who rushed to the school arrested the assailant on the spot on suspicion of attempted murder. The police department is investigating details of the incident. The student admitted to the assault in police questioning, according to investigative sources.
   The two boys were in different classes. They had an altercation right before the incident, according to sources including officials of the city's board of education. The assailant is believed to have carried with him the knife, which the sources said did not belong to the school.
