Tokyo Reports 962 New Coronavirus Cases

   Tokyo, Jan. 11 (Jiji Press)--A total of 962 people newly tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Tokyo on Tuesday, up about sixfold from a week earlier, the metropolitan government said.
   No new death was reported among COVID-19 patients.
   People in their 20s made up the largest group of the newly infected, at 383, followed by 163 in their 30s, 113 in their 40s and 100 aged 10-19.
   There were four patients with severe symptoms, counted under the metropolitan government's criteria, unchanged from the previous day.
   Elsewhere in Japan, the southernmost prefecture of Okinawa confirmed 775 new coronavirus cases, while the western prefectures of Osaka and Hiroshima reported 613 and 588 new cases, respectively.
