COVID-19 Death Toll in Japan Tops 30,000

   Tokyo, May 13 (Jiji Press)--The COVID-19 death toll in Japan topped 30,000 on Friday.
   On the same day, Tokyo reported 4,109 new infection cases, up 1,428 from a week earlier and exceeding the week-before level for the seventh straight day.
   Four new deaths linked to COVID-19 were confirmed in the Japanese capital, while the number of severely ill patients dropped by two from Thursday to four.
   The seven-day average of new cases in Tokyo rose 46.1 pct from a week before to 4,153.
