Japan July Core Machinery Orders Up 5.3 Pct

   Tokyo, Sept. 14 (Jiji Press)--Japan's seasonally adjusted core machinery orders in July rose 5.3 pct from the previous month, the Cabinet Office said Wednesday.
   Private-sector orders excluding those for ships and power equipment, closely watched as a leading indicator of corporate capital spending, came to 966 billion yen.
   The July result, which followed a 0.9 pct increase in June, beat the median estimate of a 0.6 pct decline by the 19 economic research institutes surveyed by Jiji Press. Their estimates ranged from a fall of 4.4 pct to a rise of 1.5 pct.
