G-7 Leaders Conclude Hiroshima Summit

Hiroshima, May 21 (Jiji Press)--Leaders of the Group of Seven major powers Sunday concluded their three-day summit in Hiroshima after agreeing to continue their support for Ukraine's fight against the Russian military aggression.
In their joint communique, released Saturday, the leaders of Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United States and the European Union reaffirmed their "unwavering support for Ukraine for as long as it takes."
Prime Minister Fumio Kishida chaired the summit in Hiroshima, his political hometown and one of the two Japanese cities devastated by U.S. atomic bombings near the end of World War II in August 1945.
On Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy attended in person a G-7 outreach session that also included leaders of eight guest countries such as India, Brazil and Indonesia.
He is believed to have called for stronger international solidarity in supporting Ukraine's fight against Russia and asked the G-7 members and others to continue their assistance.
