Tokyo Core Consumer Prices Up 3.2 Pct in May

   Tokyo, May 26 (Jiji Press)--The core consumer price index for Tokyo's densely populated 23 special wards in May rose 3.2 pct from a year earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications said Friday.
   The result came against the median forecast of a 3.3 pct increase among the 17 economic research institutes surveyed by Jiji Press.
   The core CPI, which excludes often volatile fresh food prices, stood at 104.7 against 100 for the base year of 2020. Month on month, the index was down 0.1 pct.
