Profiles of Ministers in Japan PM Kishida's New Cabinet I

   Tokyo, Sept. 13 (Jiji Press)--Following are profiles of people given ministerial posts for the first time under Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida's reshuffled cabinet launched Wednesday and of ministers who rejoined the cabinet:

Junji Suzuki, Internal Affairs and Communications Minister
   Suzuki, 65, won his first Diet seat in the 2003 election for the House of Representatives, the lower chamber of the Japanese parliament, after serving as a city assembly member in Seto in Aichi Prefecture, central Japan.
   A member of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party's faction previously led by the late former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Suzuki has worked hard for enacting the "green transformation" law on promoting the use of clean energy, which allows the life span of nuclear power reactors to be extended effectively beyond 60 years.
