Japan Core Consumer Prices Up 2.2 Pct in April

   Tokyo, May 24 (Jiji Press)--Japan's core consumer prices in April rose 2.2 pct from a year before, growing for the 32nd straight month, the internal affairs ministry said Friday.
   The pace of growth slowed from 2.6 pct in March. April's reading matched the median forecast among economic research institutes surveyed by Jiji Press.
   The core consumer price index, which excludes volatile fresh food prices, stood at 107.1 against the 2020 base of 100.
