Ishiba Says to Hold Lower House Election Oct. 27

   Tokyo, Sept. 30 (Jiji Press)--Liberal Democratic Party President Shigeru Ishiba on Monday unveiled plans to hold a House of Representatives election on Oct. 27.
   He told a press conference that he will dissolve the all-important lower chamber of the Diet, Japan's parliament, after he becomes prime minister.
   Ishiba, who was elected leader of the ruling LDP Friday, is all but certain to be named prime minister to succeed Fumio Kishida on Tuesday at an extraordinary Diet session to be convened that day. He is expected to launch his cabinet later Tuesday.
