Possible Suspect in Tokyo, Saitama Robberies Found in Niigata

Saitama, Oct. 7 (Jiji Press)--Police have taken into custody a man believed to be the 24-year-old suspect in a string of robberies resulting in injuries in Tokyo and the nearby prefecture of Saitama after finding him in Niigata Prefecture, it was learned Monday.
The Saitama prefectural police department plans to arrest the man once it has gathered enough evidence, investigative sources said.
The suspect, Rikiya Morita, was put on the wanted list last week for his alleged involvement in a robbery case in the city of Tokorozawa, Saitama. In the case, four men broke into a house in the small hours of Tuesday, tied up an 85-year-old male resident and his 83-year-old wife, slashed them with a knife, and took 80,000 yen in cash and other items.
Morita is suspected of being directly involved in the Tokorozawa case, as well as in a robbery case in the city of Kokubunji, Tokyo.
The Saitama police department has already arrested three men in their 20s to 40s in connection with the Tokorozawa case.
