Japan Industrial Output Rises 3 Pct in Oct.

Tokyo, Nov. 29 (Jiji Press)--Japan's industrial production in October grew 3.0 pct from the previous month after seasonal adjustment, marking its second straight month of increase thanks chiefly to rising output of semiconductors and automobiles, the industry ministry said in a preliminary report on Friday.
Industrial production is fluctuating "indecisively," the ministry said, leaving its basic assessment unchanged. The production index for the mining and manufacturing sectors stood at 104.3 against the 2020 base of 100.
Production rose in 11 of the 15 surveyed industries.
Production machinery output surged 21.7 pct, led by robust exports of semiconductor manufacturing equipment to China and Taiwan.
Production in the automobile sector rose 6.4 pct, lifted by rising exports of passenger cars. Output of some auto parts also grew in line with an increase in automobile production.
