3 Japanese Mobile Carriers Enjoy Higher Operating Profits

   Tokyo, Feb. 5 (Jiji Press)--Three major Japanese mobile phone carriers--NTT Docomo Inc. <9437>, KDDI Corp. <9433> and Softbank Corp. <9434>--enjoyed year-on-year growth in their consolidated operating profits in April-December.
   Softbank, Softbank Group Corp.'s <9984> mobile arm, saw its operating profit climb 18.5 pct to 634.9 billion yen, reflecting increased subscribers to smartphone and fiber-optic fixed line services.
