IHI Finds 211 Cases of Improper Aircraft Engine Checks

   Tokyo, March 8 (Jiji Press)--Major Japanese heavy machinery maker IHI Corp. <7013> said in an interim report on Friday that it has confirmed 211 cases of improper inspections of commercial aircraft engines at a facility in Tokyo in the past two years.
   The company conducted an in-house probe of the engine maintenance plant in the town of Mizuho after the transport ministry discovered the irregularities in an on-site inspection it conducted under the civil aviation law in January.
